Stopsticks were deployed three times, but even those didn't stop a fleeing driver who led authorities in Clay and Wilkin counties on an hour-long chase early this morning at speeds as high as 80 mph.
Clay County Sheriff's Sergeant Darin Bredman says all the tires on the van were flat, and sparks were flying off the rims as the driver continued to flee.
The chase finally ended when a Wilkin County sheriff's deputy performed a pit maneuver and spun the van into the ditch.
No one was hurt.
The driver, 33-year old Marc Singleton, was arrested for fleeing, drunk driving, and several other charges.
