Child Custody Decision In Otter Tail County

An Otter Tail County judge has granted custody of a girl to her father's parents in the wake of his murder-suicide.

 

 

 

 

An Otter Tail County judge has granted custody of a girl to her father's parents in the wake of his murder-suicide.

Darrin and Catherine Cox will have sole and legal custody of Emma Cox.

Their son, 17-year-old Dylan Cox, shot and killed his 16-year-old girlfriend, Tabitha Belmonte, in March of 2011 and then killed himself, leaving behind their then 10-month-old daughter.

Tabitha's mother will have visitation every third weekend, with additional time in the future.

Emma has lived with the Cox family her whole life.
