A.J. Jacobson scored 27 points Saturday to lead Fargo Shanley to a 73-54 win over Bismarck in the championship game of the North Dakota Boys Class A Basketball Tournament.

Bismarck, N.D. (AP) A.J. Jacobson scored 27 points Saturday to lead Fargo Shanley to a 73-54 win over Bismarck in the championship game of the North Dakota Boys Class A Basketball Tournament.
Jacobson, the Mr. Basketball winner for North Dakota, finished the night with 2,002 points, breaking the state Class A record of 1,996 points held by Valley City's Jeff Boschee.
Jacobson added 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals and took over in the second half as the Deacons (21-4) won their third state title and first since 1997 and 1998.
Patrick Strom had 17 points and Dylan Alderman 12 for Shanley.
Troy Hausauer had 17 points and seven rebounds for Bismarck (16-9). Taylor Schafer had 14 points.
