Richland County Squad Car Hit On I-29

A Richland County squad car was struck on I-29 Monday afternoon as a deputy was setting up traffic cones for a road closure.

 

 

 

 

A Richland County squad car was struck on I-29 Monday afternoon as a deputy was setting up traffic cones for a road closure. Deputy Dan Wise saw the speeding vehicle and ran into the median to avoid getting hit.

 

William Hrdlicka, 69, of Hankinson was cited for careless driving.

Hrdlicka told troopers he was reaching for a mirror that fell off his visor and took his eyes off the road, and when he looked up, he was unable to switch lanes because of traffic.
