FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A 20-year-old man is accused of second-degree murder in the death of a North Dakota man last week on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.

Waylon Hicks made his first appearance Wednesday in federal court. Court documents accuse him of stabbing 30-year-old Jeremiah Sage to death Friday after the two left a New Town bar.

Hicks was not asked to enter a plea.

A preliminary hearing has not been scheduled.

An affidavit says Sage offered to give Hicks a ride to his truck when the bar closed.

Hicks allegedly told investigators he became angry after Sage made sexual advances toward him.

The complaint says Hicks stabbed Sage several times in the chest.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon had no comment.

A federal public defender was not immediately available for comment.
