BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota's Game and Fish Department is working with nearly two dozen landowners in 17 hunting units who want to host antlerless deer hunters this fall.
The department says the landowners have 230 openings for doe hunters.
The program is not intended for buck hunters, but designed to direct hunters with antlerless licenses to specific areas to reduce deer populations.
Hunters who want to be considered for the program can get more information on the Game and Fish website at www.GF.ND.gov.
North Dakota's 2012 regular deer gun season runs from November 9th through 25th.
The archery season is August 31st through next January 6th; the youth season is September 14th through 23rd; and the muzzleloader season is November 30th through December 16th.
