St. Paul, Minn - Hundreds of blue lights will be shining on the Peace Officers Memorial Saturday night at the state Capitol. The Minnesota chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors is honoring fallen officers with its annual "Blue Light" ceremony.
COPS Vice President Bill Hammes says it's to remember those officers who have died in the line of duty and families left without their loved one. He says it's their way of reminding them that they are not forgotten during the holiday season.
Saint Louis Park Officer Mike Pollitz and Lake City Officer Shawn Schneider are among those who died in the line of duty over the past year.
