SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The mother of a 9-year-old girl whose daughter was kidnapped, raped and slashed to death 22 years ago in South Dakota is trying to raise money so she can attend the convicted killer's execution.
Tina Curl moved to Lake Luzerne, New York shortly after Becky O'Connell's death in May 1990.
Curl says she's looking forward to hearing Donald Moeller take his last breath since he watched her daughter take hers.
Authorities say Moeller kidnapped O'Connell from a Sioux Falls convenience store, drove her to a secluded area near the Big Sioux River, then raped and killed her.
Curl and her husband, Dave, need help raising funds for the trip because they're living on $720 a month disability checks.
The fundraising effort has brought in nearly $900 of the needed $4,000.
