MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A Minot family has donated half a million dollars to a Scandinavian foundation in North Dakota.
Dan Langemo of First Western Bank & Trust presented the check from the Charles and Magdalene Westlie Trusts to the Høstfest-Heritage Foundation on Tuesday. The Westlies, who passed away a few years ago, founded Westlie Motor Co. in Minot.
The Hostfest-Heritage Foundation was formed to promote and preserve the Norsk Hostfest Association, which runs Norsk Hostfest, a Scandinavian festival. It also promotes the Scandinavian Heritage Association, which runs the Scandinavian Heritage Park.
