Man Arrested For Climbing Mount Rushmore In S.D.

Authorities have arrested a man for climbing Mount Rushmore National Memorial in western South Dakota.

 

 

 

 

KEYSTONE, S.D. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a man for climbing Mount Rushmore National Memorial in western South Dakota.

Supervisory Park Ranger Darin Oestmann said the climber was arrested about 3 p.m. Monday on numerous federal violations including trespassing.

Oestmann did not identify the man but said he was not from the area.

The park ranger says the man did not use climbing gear. He did not say how far the man climbed or give other details of the incident.
