MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Officials say a new general aviation services center in western North Dakota will allow larger planes to fly into the heart of the oil patch.

The $2.5 million Minot Aero Center will include a building with a lobby, offices, garage space and day rooms for pilots.

An adjoining heated hangar has a 119-foot-wide and 28-foot-high door to accommodate larger aircraft.

Officials say the hangar is expected to be ready by January 1st.

The building is scheduled to be completed by May 2013.

The center offers fueling services, aircraft charter and rental, flight instruction, aircraft repair and hangar space.
