FARGO, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota State University has a new facility to train the traders.
The commodity training laboratory is located on the first floor of Richard H. Barry Hall, 1 of the school's downtown campus buildings.
The room has 32 work stations where students and researchers can analyze commodity markets and learn risk management and trading.
All the training is done electronically.
NDSU professor William Wilson, who teaches commodity marketing, says the lab is unique because it specializes in agricultural commodities. He says it has the potential to be used in other programs.
The project was funded with the help of several companies in the agriculture commodities market.
