1 Person Dead In Anoka County House Fire

An Anoka County sheriff's official says one person has died in a house fire in Linwood early Wednesday.

LINWOOD, Minn. (AP) - An Anoka County sheriff's official says one person has died in a house fire in Linwood early Wednesday.

The house was destroyed in the fire which broke out about 6 a.m. Originally the fire chief was unsure if anyone was inside. But sheriff's Cmdr. Paul Sommer later tweeted that there was one confirmed death.

Firefighters battled the blaze from outside the structure because the second story of the house collapsed.

Linwood is north of East Bethel.
