Bismarck, N.D. (AP) - Firefighters have controlled two small wildfires in the western North Dakota grasslands and are getting a handle on a larger one.

The U.S. Forest Service says the Deep Creek 12 and Sail fires were controlled Sunday. Both were northwest of Amidon, and both were less than a square mile in size.

Some crews on the Sail fire are being moved to the Deep Creek 2 fire north of Marmarth, which has scorched 7 square miles. That blaze is 50 percent contained.

All three fires were started by lightning.
