A mechanical failure led to a semi trailer fire on Interstate 29 near Grandin, N.D. Monday morning.
Traffic was detoured for nearly two hours the semi trailer caught fire.
North Dakota State Patrol Sergeant Troy Hischer said the fire started in the rear wheels of the trailer. The flames destroyed the car and the trailer, which was loaded with plastic.
A towing company, dump trucks and a front end loader was called in to clear the pavement of melted plastic.
