She’s been the head of North Dakota’s Department of Human Services for 15 years.

 

 

 

 

She’s been the head of North Dakota’s Department of Human Services for 15 years and now, Carol Olson is retiring.

Olson is the longest-serving Human Services Director in the U.S.

Olson says she never thought she would stay that long, but she attributes it to a number of things.

Olson says she’s proud of her department’s strides in giving people care in community settings, rather than institutions and also says she’s proud that child support collections administered by her department have vastly improved.

Olson’s last day is Friday.
