Two waves of thunderstorms rolled through Fargo-Moorhead and the southern Red River Valley early Thursday morning.
The storms dumped over an inch of rain at the KFGO Studios in south Fargo and pea-to-quarter sized hail in Edgeley. Small hail was also reported in parts of Richland County, along with one inch of rain in Wahpeton and Mantador.
A pole barn in Clay County burned to the ground early Thursday morning in a fire believed to have been caused by lightning.
Firefighters responded to the call about 4 a.m. at the Paul Hartke farm, eight miles southeast of Glyndon. The barn was already fully involved when it was discovered.
An ATV, some small equipment and hay were also destroyed in the fire.
