The Catholic Church has been hit with a second lawsuit by a woman who says she was sexually abused by a former priest assigned to the Crookston, Minn. diocese.

The church has already settled a civil suit filed by Megan Peterson. Peterson said it gives her some relief to know that the Reverend Joseph Jeyapaul is in custody in India. He was arrested on a warrant issued in Roseau County.

"It does, but I think there's still more that needs to be done," said Peterson. "Church officials need to do more outreach. I'm grateful he's behind bars, as of now. There's still more that needs to be done."

The new lawsuit has been filed by a woman identified as Jane Doe 122.

Peterson settled for $750,000 with the diocese not admitting any wrongdoing.

Peterson said she was abused by Jeyapaul when he was at a church in Greenbush.
