North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple says he expects to soon start hearing requests for disaster declarations from counties dealing with crop damage as a result of drought conditions that have gripped eastern North Dakota.
Gov. Dalrymple says his office will make sure growers have access to resources to help cope with production losses.
Affected counties must have damages in excess of a million dollars.
A disaster declaration would make farmers eligible for USDA disaster assistance programs.
