A pair of high school seniors who were caught up in a North Dakota High School Activities Association dispute may be on the football field for Hillsboro in the fall.
The board has asked its football committee to consider changes that would allow Ethan Proznik and Dusty Schildberger to finish out their high school careers in Hillsboro.
The two had been playing for Central Valley in Buxton, which no longer has enough players to continue its program. The board decided to allow a co-op in football between Central Valley and Hillsboro, and the agreement may be in place by the upcoming season, a year ahead of schedule.
"The board decided to table this only long enough for the football committee to go to work and see if they can develop language that could allow the latitude for this to happen," said Executive Director Sherm Sylling.
The committee is expected to meet by conference call on June 30.
