Contractors interested in getting a piece of the action during construction of the planned $2 billion Red River diversion have been invited to a two day seminar in Fargo next month.

Army Corps of Engineers Chief of Contracting Kevin Henricks with the St. Paul District said the contracting seminar is scheduled for June 28th at the Holiday Inn.

"The first day is really the construction industry day, trying to solicite feedback from contractors about how to possibly better construct the project, ways that they feel that we could change our design or things that would help us better improve how we construct the project," said Henricks.

Henricks is hoping for about 50 companies. Pre-registration is required.

On June 27th, the Corps will hold a construction industry day workshop that will include an overview of the project and provide information on design.

Henricks said the Corps will also be looking for advice from contractors and engineers on construction of the diversion.
