FARGO - Fargo police have made a number of recent prostitution arrests and now they've turned their sights on the customers. Two Fargo men were arrested in an undercover "John" sting Tuesday at a local hotel.
The two responded to an escort advertisement police posted on the "Fargo backpage" web site.
Thirty-two-year-old Joseph Naylor and 26-year-old Bruce Stevens were arrested for soliciting prostitution.
The charge is a class B misdemeanor, punishable by up to 30-days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
The legislature passed a "John" bill seven years ago. Prior to that, police had no grounds to arrest those seeking sex for money.
