Feds: Tribal Squad Car Stolen, Shot And Driven Into Lake

Three people are being charged in connection with the bizarre theft and destruction of a Spirit Lake Tribal police car.

Three people are being charged in connection with the bizarre theft and destruction of a Spirit Lake Tribal police car.


The unattended squad was parked near a jail while three suspects were sitting in the backseat.


Assistant U.S. Attorney Brett Shasky says one of the suspects managed to squeeze into the front seat and drive the squad away.


The suspects were originally arrested on a loud party complaint.


They're now facing charges including escape, theft and damage to government property and possession of stolen firearms.
