Residents near Spencer, S.D. are on edge as authorities continue searching for an escaped prisoner.

The convicted sex offender was being transported from Florida to Nebraska when he escaped from a transport bus on Saturday. Some residents in the area say the prisoner could still be hiding in a corn field.

Last year, one other prisoner escaped from prison transport vehicle near Oriska.
