FARGO - Police never recommend taking the law into your own hands. But the gamble paid off for a man whose car was stolen Monday afternoon in Fargo.
Lt. Joel Vettel says shortly after calling police to report the crime, the man spotted his stolen car being driven down the street--and began to follow it.
According to Vettel, the owner of the vehicle followed his car to a gas station; he then approached the car thief and got into a minor altercation. The car thief made an attempt to run away from the scene.
The car's owner, his friend and a Good Samaritan chased the suspect on foot and caught him in a restroom at a homeless shelter.
Twenty-nine-year-old Whitney Littleghost of Fargo was arrested on stolen vehicle and drug charges.
