Union members at American Crystal Sugar will vote next weekend on the company's contract offer for the third time. The decision came after the two sides failed to reach agreement after the fourth round of talks last week.
"The members decide at the ballot boxes on Saturday," said Union President John Riskey. "Our polls are going to be open at 9 o'clock and they will be able to start voting until 4 o'clock. Then we'll let the members decide what the feeling is out there."
The company has not changed its position since the labor impasse began.
Crystal's final offer includes wage increases and a requirement that workers begin picking up part of the tab for health insurance and changing seniority rules. The union rejected the contract before because leaders say it would gut the union of all its power.
The 10-month dispute involves nearly 1,300 workers.
