Crews Searching National Park For Missing Hiker

Dozens of volunteers and park employees on foot and horseback searched the south unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park where a 48-year-old hiker is missing.

 

 

 

 

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - Dozens of volunteers and park employees on foot and horseback searched the south unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park where a 48-year-old hiker is missing.

The man went for a day hike on Sunday morning and was reported missing by his employer on Monday morning.

The hiker's vehicle was found at the park's south unit boundary.

The man as an experienced backcountry hiker in good physical shape.

The search covers all of the park's south unit trails and areas adjacent to the park.

A North Dakota Highway Patrol aircraft did an aerial search on Monday and Tuesday.
