Grand Forks will assist the city of Dickinson with building inspection plans under a joint powers agreement approved by the Grand Forks council last night.
A tight labor pool and an increasing demand for services prompted Dickinson officials to reach out to grand forks for help. Under the plan Grand Forks will do building reviews on a contract basis for a fee.
City Engineer Al Grasser says a part-time inspector will be hired in Grand Forks to perform the work. He says the program is designed to be revenue neutral - in other words not be an added cost to the city of Grand Forks.
The agreement is good for one year but can be cancelled by either party with a 30-day notice.
