West Fargo police are looking at fingerprints and shoe prints left in a West Fargo storage garage after valuable dinosaur fossils were stolen sometime in the last 20 days.
Gary Olson, a paleontologist, said he is the only person in the state to own these types of items. Along with mosasaur jawbones and other fossils, several dozen dinosaur models, some two feet long, were also missing.
Olson is doing some of his own investigating, checking local pawn shops to see if the items turn up. According to Olson, the bones are worth about $20,000.
Olson is the former owner of Dinosaurs & More, a museum and gift shop in West Fargo that closed three years ago.
