Amtrak's Empire Builder was delayed in Fargo about 90 minutes this morning while police and railroad workers removed an abandoned Jeep that was hung up on the main line tracks.
The train's conductor tells KFGO news it's lucky the truck wasn't struck.
Shortly before 4 this morning, a passerby spotted the late model Jeep Cherokee stuck on the railroad tracks just off 7th Avenue North and called 911. Police then notified BNSF Railroad to hold all traffic on the route.
Police are still looking for the driver who left the vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks.
