State Employee Charged With Social Security Fraud

A state employee has been charged with using a false identity to collect low-income housing tax subsidies from the federal government.

 

 

 

 

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A state employee has been charged with using a false identity to collect low-income housing tax subsidies from the federal government.

A federal indictment says 53-year-old Oluremi George illegally claimed more than $18,000 in housing credits by using a false name and Social Security number to apply for a townhome at a low-income housing complex.

The Woodbury woman is accused of using the false Social Security number when applying for a driver's license and passport. George is charged with five counts of Social Security fraud, four counts of making false statements and passport fraud. She did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
