MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police are evacuating a building in downtown Minneapolis.
Police are evacuating the Gaviidae Common Building Friday, on Nicollet Mall between 6th Ave. and 7th Ave. That building includes an M&I Bank and a number of retail establishments.
A police spokesman was arriving on the scene in the early afternoon but said he had no immediate details about why the building was evacuated. Adam Dutcher, who works at a Radio Shack in the building, says he was barred from re-entering by a security guard who told him there had been a bomb threat at M&I Bank.
Several streets in the area are also closed by police, as is Nicollet Mall for several blocks. Numerous officers are on the scene from Minneapolis police and transit police and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department.
