DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - A package of drugs sent through the mail in North Dakota didn't reach its intended recipient but was instead delivered to a high school.

Police say an employee in the business office at Trinity High School in Dickinson opened the package Tuesday and discovered more than a pound of marijuana. Superintendent Kelly Koppinger said that he never would have dreamed such a thing could happen.

Principal Carter Fong says the school was not the intended recipient. Authorities have not said to whom the package was addressed. Police Capt. Joe Cianni says it's unclear if it can be traced back to the sender.

The matter has been turned over to a regional drug task force.
