Group Wants To Lease Land At Grand Forks AFB

A Grand Forks County committee wants to develop about 300 acres of unused land on the Grand Forks Air Force Base.

 

 

 

 

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A Grand Forks County committee wants to develop about 300 acres of unused land on the Grand Forks Air Force Base.

The Base Realignment Impact Committee works to ensure the future of the base. The group is trying to fulfill Defense Department requirements to lease land on the base just west of Grand Forks.

The goal is to develop the land for private companies and other entities interested in establishing facilities on the base. Officials say a lease could help expand the presence of unmanned aircraft systems on the base and in the region.
