WATERTOWN, S.D. (AP) - Authorities said a man died at Lake Kampeska in northeastern South Dakota over the Fourth of July.
Officers with the Game, Fish, and Parks Department say 41-year-old Harvey Seidell, of Watertown, dove out of a boat to swim and hit his head about 7 p.m. Wednesday. The incident happened 100 yards off shore in an area where a sandbar creates shallow areas.
Officials say the water Seidell dove into was about 2 1/2 feet deep.
