ND Sec State Hopes Hours Back To Normal In Sept

North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger says he hopes to have his office hours back to normal in early September.

 

 

 

 

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger says he hopes to have his office hours back to normal in early September.

In April Jaeger shortened the hours during which the public could do business at his Capitol office.

It's now open six hours a day instead of the normal nine hours.

Jaeger says the change gave workers time to catch up on processing an increased number of business registrations, contractor licenses and other paperwork.

He says it now takes about three weeks to process registration and contractor license requests.

It was taking six weeks.

He wants to cut turnaround time to one to two weeks.

Jaeger's office is now open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

He wants to go back to 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 4.
