One Dead After Explosion, Fire At Sartell Paper Mill

One person was killed and four were injured in an explosion that caused a large fire at a paper mill in Sartell.

 

 

 

 

SARTELL, Minn. (AP) - One person was killed and five were injured in an explosion that caused a large fire at a paper mill in Sartell. 

Fourteen fire departments in all responded to the Monday fire. It burned for hours after an air compressor exploded just before noon, but was all but about 10 percent contained by evening.

Authorities did not immediately identify the person killed, or the condition of those hurt. Company officials said a full shift of 50 people was working at the time of the explosion but that all had been accounted for.
