Fargo Police Chief Keith Ternes said investigators are still looking into a human trafficking and prostitution case to make sure they catch all those involved.

Ternes said prostitution is on the rise in Fargo, and police do not want it to spiral out of control.

"I'd like to keep this issue well in check before we wake up some morning and now we have prostitution in the traditional sense where maybe we have women or others who are actually standing on street corners in downtown Fargo," said Ternes. "I don't think residents of Fargo are remotely interested in accepting that. I also think that because of the volume of the advertising we're seeing, we're getting dangerously close to having that occur in the not too distant future here in Fargo."

Chad Lindley, 40, was arrested Friday after police executed a search warrant at his home.

It was believed to be the first sex trafficking arrest in the state.
