Aerial spraying targeting a growing mosquito population kicks off Monday over Fargo.
Cass County Vector Control has been chemically treating the insects breeding sites for several months. Vector Control Director Ben Prather said this is the first time this season aircraft will be used.
"With the upcoming holiday and the conditions that have been, we've brought out the big guns and decided to go to the air and put up the aircraft over the city of Fargo tonight," said Prather. "We're going to be ground fogging in a couple of other locations in correlation to that."
Harwood, Mapleton and Hunter will also be sprayed for the pests starting at 8 p.m. Monday, weather permitting.
