Fargo Police have arrested a man in connection with a Fargo-based human trafficking and prostitution operation.
Lieutenant Joel Vettel said Chad Lindley, 40, was arrested Friday afternoon when police executed a search warrant at his Fargo residence.
Vettel said it is believed to be the first sex trafficking arrest in the state.
"This case resulted from information that we received that an individual was operating an escort service that was providing prostitution to customers through a back page ad on the Internet," said Vettel. "Through our investigation, and through a police informant, we were able to establish enough probable cause to make an arrest for that charge of Class A felony of human trafficking."
Vettel said multiple people are involved in the operation and more arrests are possible. According to Vettel, the trafficking may have been taking place for up to a year.
Lindley was also charged with possession of anabolic steroids.
