CJJ, Inc., a heavy equipment parts and machine shop in Detroit Lakes, Minn., sustained extensive damage after fire broke out at 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Fire Chief Dave Baer said when fire crews arrived, heavy black smoke was coming out of the office and flames were visible in the production area.
"Since it had been burning for quite some time, our major concern was of collapse, and that did start to happen mid-way through, so we did evacuate the building and did more of an exterior attack," said Baer.
No one was hurt in the fire. The business sustained extensive damage.
The fire marshal has been called in to investigate the cause.
