Crews at the Fargodome will finish installing nearly $3 million worth of new turf within the next two weeks.
Fargodome General Manager Rob Sobolik said fans will notice a difference in the new field.
"It's obviously more of a grass-like surface," said Sobolik. "When you look from above, compared to the old football turf surface that was down here, it looks more like grass. It's a deeper, richer green."
Gate City Bank acquired the naming rights to the field. It will now be called Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome.
A second new feature fans will see at the Fargodome in September is an expanded parking lot.
