Man Facing Assault Charges In Moorhead

A 19-year-old Moorhead man is facing charges after police say he assaulted several people and a police officer on Wednesday.

 

 

 

 

A 19-year-old Moorhead man is facing charges after police say he assaulted several people and a police officer on Wednesday.

Omar Yaseen was holding a shovel when officers arrived at an attempted burglary call in the 3500 block of Village Green Drive. Yaseen then threw the shovel, grazing one of the officers.

Yaseen was then tasered and pepper-sprayed.

Police say mental health issues may have been a factor in the incident.
