Two measures on North Dakota's primary ballot appear to be headed toward opposite outcomes.

In a poll of likely voters conducted by Valley News Live, Measure 2 was rejected by an overwhelming 70 percent of voters. The measure would eliminate a variety of local taxes but would require the state replace the lost revenue.

A majority of those voting on Measure 4 said it is time to retire the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux nickname and logo. The poll shows the measure passing with 59 percent indicating they will be voting "yes." The measure, which would allow the state to retire the nickname and logo, has its strongest support in eastern North Dakota while dissenting votes are highest in western North Dakota.
