A former Pembina County prosecutor who resigned just before a hearing on whether to remove him from office is seeking a seat on the Pembina County Commission.

 

 

 

 

A former Pembina County prosecutor who resigned just before a hearing on whether to remove him from office is seeking a seat on the Pembina County Commission.

Stuart Askew is among five candidates running in Tuesday's primary. Askew said the county needs a new direction.

The county commission last year levied a number of allegations against Askew, ranging from failure to perform duties to improper personal behavior.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple appointed a retired judge to hold a hearing after the state Attorney General's Office signed a complaint against Askew.
