Suicidal Man Prompts Brief Interstate 29 Closing

Interstate 29 near Grand Forks was closed briefly while police investigated a report of a suicidal man with a knife.

 

 

 

 

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Interstate 29 near Grand Forks was closed briefly while police investigated a report of a suicidal man with a knife.

Police Sgt. Jason Dvorak says police found the man underneath the deck of the 32nd Avenue interstate overpass. Dvorak says the man was drunk and unarmed.

He was taken to Altru Hospital for an evaluation.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the interstate were closed for about 15 minutes while police spoke to the man. The incident happened at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.
