Smoke-Free North Dakota volunteers are gathering signatures to make all indoor workplaces in North Dakota smoke-free.
Over 13,000 signatures are needed to put the measure on the November ballot.
"Two years ago we had about 74 percent in support statewide, so we know there is a lot of support out there," said Chelsey Matter, a respiratory therapist and chairwoman for the Smoke-Free North Dakota committee.
With all the support, Matter believes all the signatures may be collected by August 8.
Eight cities in North Dakota, including Fargo, West Fargo, Grand Forks and Bismarck have an ordinance similar to this proposed law.
