ND Man Gets Life For Aiding And Abetting Robbery

A North Dakota man who pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine has been sentenced to life in prison for drug trafficking and aiding and abetting a robbery to support the trafficking.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A North Dakota man who pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine has been sentenced to life in prison for drug trafficking and aiding and abetting a robbery to support the trafficking.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon announced Tuesday that 55-year-old Fred Miles Thompson, of Fargo, was sentenced to 40 years in prison on the drug trafficking charge and to life in prison for the charge of aiding and abetting a robbery in furtherance of drug trafficking.

The sentences are to run consecutively.

Thompson pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine in the Fargo area as well as requesting three men to rob a convenience store in Fargo in October 2011.

The three men have been sentenced to prison for their role in the robbery.
