After just two years on the job, Hawley Police Chief Glen Hanson is stepping down. Hanson tells KFGO News that he's retiring to open a business with his son.

Hanson says he's also leaving the force because city leaders want him to live in Hawley, but he's not able to sell his home in Fargo.

Hanson was appointed in November, 2010. Prior to that, he spent more than 20 years as a member of the Fargo Police Department. Hanson’s last day on the job is November 9.
