Police in Fargo are trying to figure out why and how a vehicle ended up in the Red River early Sunday morning.

More than a dozen rescue and emergency team members searched the Red's cold waters for a possible victim or victims. They found none.

The vehicle, which belongs to NDSU and was stolen, was found just off Elm Street in north Fargo.

Fire fighters were concerned someone may have tried to swim from the vehicle and end up suffering from hypothermia.

Police from Fargo and Moorhead also scoured the riverbanks about three-quarters of a mile down-stream from the crash site, again finding nothing.

Divers from Valley Water Rescue were also ready to go, in case they were needed.
